Jiu-Jitsu teaches the most valuable lesson many adults never learned. If you fall down, you get back up. Your kids will also learn discipline, resilience, respect for others, body awareness, situational awareness and coordination.
How often should kids train Jiu-Jitsu?
Kids should train 2-3 days a week to get the most benefit. Two days a week is more than enough to compete with other kids in their class. However, Three days a week obviously promotes the most self-improvement.

Learning new grappling techniques (such as takedowns, throws, submission holds, controlling techniques, sweeps, reversals, turnovers and escapes) can be difficult. So our kids jiu-jitsu school in Sarasota only teaches 1-2 techniques a lesson.
Can kids get hurt in Jiu-Jitsu?
Injuries tend to happen in high impact situations. Like tackling in football, falling off a playground, etc. Punching, kicking or elbowing is forbidden in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. However, kids will be kids, so injuries are possible in any martial arts sport.
