Is Jiu-Jitsu the hardest form of martial arts?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most difficult type of martial arts to learn. Unlike other martial arts, jiu-jitsu students exert large amounts of energy at all times against a resisting opponent. Jiu-Jitsu grappling techniques such as takedowns, throws, submission holds, controlling techniques, sweeps, reversals, turnovers and escapes burn a massive amount of calories.

Defend yourself against bigger and stronger opponents

It sounds scary, but that’s the point. By training against bigger and stronger opponents in a controlled environment, you gain skill. Overcoming this fear is very important for your self-growth.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is designed to help you overcome your fears. One by one. We teach students ground fighting where they can use chokeholds, submissions and controlling holds.

Sarasota BJJ training requirements

BJJ training requires a balance between mental and physical strength. Submissions, controlling holds, chokeholds, and takedowns require physical strength. While learning, starting over, getting back up and coordination required mental strength.

Is Jiu Jitsu good for smaller people?
